Great piece! I wonder if you feel like Barbie glamorizes Gnosticism, or the fall, as an eye-opening moment, the way the the Matrix does? (The Wachowski brothers admit to gnostic inspiration for the Matrix.)

Weird Barbie as the serpent, leading Barbie to ‘knowledge’ of the real world, and her ultimately opting for an out-of-Eden experience? Wouldn’t Ruth (the Creator) want Barbie to return to Eden, and not the place the Serpent led her to?
